WEEK 61

10 more months already

Hey everyone!

This week was pretty good, it finally rained so it's more clear now. It also cooled the placed down for a few minutes haha. Nothing to exciting happened this week, we contacted and was trying to find a lot of people this week. So we contacted and contacted and contacted some more. We found some really cool people and prepared people too, this guy he got shot in the chest and missed his heart inch centimeters away. So he turned his life around and started to follow Christ. So it's really cool to hear people's stories out here.

We had district meeting and Elder Vance and I was teaching it about the apostasy and restoration. We had no computer so we had district meeting over a phone call haha.  We have this one investigator name Vernon he has a baptismal date for end of June. He came to church yesterday with his kids, he is a really cool guy and tall 6'7" rasta man haha but he understands everything we teach so well. He is really prepared so we are going to keep working with him and get his family involved.

Not much really happened this week but have a great week everyone!

2 nephi 3:24 and d and c 68:6
just a few scriptures I liked while reading

Always have good cheer , we shouldn't worry about anything cuz He is always by our side to help us when we need him. So don't fear and be of good cheer!

WEEK 60

Hey Everyone!!

Not much happened this week! Just the same old same old. We have been finding a couple of cool people to teach, some that are pretty interested. So we have a lot of new investigators here. A lot of the people you teach one lesson and set a next appointment but then they always cancel so that's been tough haha. But now we have a few solid people now to teach.

This last week we had an exchange so Elder Hagood and Elder Plumb (my old comps) came up Tobago for the night and stayed with us so that was really cool!! We had some fun and had a great exchange. Also this week a couple from Cali came here on vacation and came to church the last Sunday. They wanted to take us out to eat so they took us out to a really nice restaurant. It was weird sitting in a restaurant cuz I'm not use to it haha but it was great. And then on the exchange they took us out to some really nice Italian pizza. So they are really great and nice!

We had zone conference so we flew to Trinidad and back in the same day. We talked a lot about temples and how temples are mentioned all through out the bible and the importance of going to the temple. So it was a great conference, got to see all the missionaries finally haha.

But that's really about it. Have a great week!!
1nephi 17:3 and 1 nephi 18:3

As we have obedience in our lives, our heavenly father will bless us as we keep the commandments. Also prayer is such a powerful thing as we pray we have that communication with our Heavenly Father and as we pray we will see prayers answered and see great things come into our lives. So I challenge to all you PRAY and if you are praying, pray some more.

love you all and thanks for all the prayers and support

WEEK 59 - MOTHER'S DAY

Mother's day! ...yesterday

It was great to have been able to Skye yesterday!! It's great to see everyone. It's crazy that I only have one more Skye day left! I've been thinking about that lately, I have been out for awhile now haha and it still feels like I just got here.
This week has been a descent week, we had a lot of  fall throughs so we were trying to find people to teach. We found some pretty good people but that's pretty much what I did all week haha. We had some good lessons with a couple people but no real progressing people just as yet. That will change this week tho.
I gave a talk in sacrament yesterday. I talked maybe 15 or 20 min and it just seemed pretty easy haha it is no sweat now. I talked about the Book of Mormon and the role it can play in our lives. Also how the holy ghost can be with us to help guide us in this life. It went really well, a lot of the members aren't reading everyday so I am trying to encourage them all to start reading more.
That was pretty much all the week, nothing too exciting. This week will be more exciting I'm sure.
Well have a great week everyone! I came across these two scriptures and I liked them. 1 nephi 8:12 and 1 nephi 13:37 so enjoy those as you read them and don't forget to ponder them as well.
take care! one Love!

WEEK 58

TOBAGO!!!!

Hey everyone!

So I'm here in Tobago now which is a really beautiful place! It's a view wherever I go. When I wake up I see the ocean so it's pretty great! Tobago is all country really, there is no big city just jungle bush and hills everywhere you go. So it's awesome haha I'll defiantly have some sweet pics this transfer. My companion is Elder Vance, he is from Idaho Falls. He's pretty cool, he came out like 3 or 4 months before me.
The branch here is pretty small haha usually like 30 people at sacrament. So a big difference now haha so It'll be interesting here. I'll have to do a lot more work with the branch, trying to keep it in order and stuff. I have met some really cool people. There is a 89 yr old man who is a recent convert and he passes the sacrament. so that's awesome. Still wanting to exercise Priesthood that old. The people here is pretty nice too. So I'll have a lot of stories in the future.
My apartment is nice, we can go on the roof and see the ocean so that's awesome. I'll send pics next week. Only thing is the cock roaches haha they are everywhere.
But we are working with great people here preparing some for baptism. So it'll be cool baptizing in the ocean.
Well not much else this week but I read 1 nephi 1:12 its a simple verse but as you read the book of moron or the scriptures you will have the spirit with you more in your life. so read!! haha

WEEK 57

Baptism!!

hey everyone!!
So this week was pretty eventful for a change. First it was super hot outside!! It's like hard to breathe sometimes cuz the humidity is reeally thick. even the trinis say it's way hot. But that doesn't stop us! We were out in the sun all week trying to find some new people to teach. We spent a lot of hours in the sun. I don't mind my tan is sure getting better haha
One of the highpoints of the week is to be able to see Ann baptized!!! It was awesome to see the change in her and come unto the gospel. I started teaching her during Christmas but they dropped her cuz she wasn't progressing. But when I got back to Couva the second day my comp and I got an impression to start teaching her again. so we did and the spirit has been working in her life big time. The spirit really prepared her for this baptism. Every time we go and teach her the lessons are always great and now she is baptized! I know I came back to Couva for a reason and I know it was cuz of Ann I came back. She says she finally understands the gospel and she knows this church is true. So I'm very grateful I was able to help Ann.
Other news I am leaving Couva. yep transfer calls. I will be going to Tobago. It's a small island off of Trinidad. It will only be me and Elder Vance on the island so it's going to be pretty interesting. We have to Skye into district meetings. So we are pretty isolated from everyone haha. But it'll be great. I have to say goodbye to the people I have in Couva... again haha  Once again hard to say goodbye to friends I've made in the community.
We had a lot at sacrament meeting which is nice. There was 91 so that's a ton here. Last Sunday here and it was a great one.
Well have a great week everyone! I recently read Moroni 9:6 , talks about labor diligently. So I know even if it may seem hard as we labor diligently and work hard we will see those blessings in our life. So don't give up in what ever you are doing, continue to rely on Christ cuz He will be the one to help you through anything. I love you all! till next time.
